When I first began writing Just Wonderfully Wired, my heart was focused on families and
educators who love and care for neurodivergent children. I wanted to create a space filled
with encouragement, faith, and practical strategies that could help both at home and in the
classroom.
But recently, the Holy Spirit whispered something to my heart:
“This isn’t just for some children. This is for all children.”
That reminder took my breath away. I had been thinking my words were only relevant for a
certain group of parents and teachers, but God opened my eyes to something bigger. The
truth is, the same biblical encouragement, creative strategies, and grace-filled mindset that
support neurodivergent kids can bless every child.
Every child needs to be reminded that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm
139:14).
Every child benefits when adults slow down, listen deeply, and create an environment
where they can thrive.
Every child flourishes when we celebrate their God-given uniqueness instead of
comparing them to someone else’s path.
The strategies that help a child with sensory needs can also create peace and focus for
children who don’t typically struggle in that way. A grounding exercise, a calming space, or a
reminder of God’s truth isn’t only useful for one kind of learner—it’s life-giving for all kinds.
I realized that what the Holy Spirit has been doing through this blog is widening the circle.
It’s not about dividing children into categories. It’s about recognizing that every child, no
matter how they are wired, has a place in God’s story and a purpose that matters.
So if you’re a mom, dad, teacher, or caregiver reading this and thinking, “But my child
doesn’t have a diagnosis,”—you are still welcome here. These words are for you too. My
prayer is that you find encouragement, ideas, and reminders of God’s truth that bless your
family or classroom.
Because the message at the heart of Just Wonderfully Wired is this: every child is created
intentionally by a God who makes no mistakes.
